Students from local school visit Ambleside
We had a lovely morning at Ambleside today. Artist Sue began with some music for the residents to sing along to, whilst wearing some very dapper summer hats! Lionel lead the residents in a chorus of “Daisy Daisy” and everyone enjoyed singing “I wanna hold your hand.”
Then, students from the local secondary school St Richards came to visit. The children helped the residents make some Mother’s Day decorations and had a cuddle with Gertrude the hen. The residents loved having the children to visit – Lionel enjoyed showing some boxing moves and Barbara loved chatting with the students about her granddaughters.
The teacher emailed me later to say “My pupils loved it! One immediately came to see me and asked if she could go again, which is great because she is usually quite disengaged from everything.”
