This Sunday afternoon we thought it would be nice if some of the residents helped make the scones for our afternoon tea. When we brought out the ingredients Margaret, Daisy and Mary instantly came over to take part in the preparation. They immediately went about rubbing the butter into the flour, and then mixing with milk to make a dough before rolling out. It was as if their minds just clicked back to when they used to make scones for their families years ago. The scones turned out wonderful, and all the residents really enjoyed them.
We made wholemeal, cheese, sultana and plain scones which we served for afternoon tea.
The Residents at Ambleside spent the afternoon practicing their still life drawings skills. Care assistants, Michaela and Yvonne brought in several different objects for the residents to sketch. Prizes were awarded for the best drawings. The staff were impressed with the level of concentration show by the residents, many of whom who took the contest seriously.

The residents of Ambleside love animals. One afternoon Cara and a few of the residents took a nice walk down to Pets at Home. Doris and Mary enjoyed looking at all of the different animals, and helped chose some new fish for our fish tank.
On Sunday 20th April we held an Easter party and lunch for the residents and family members. Mary, Doris, and Daisy had a fantastic time making Easter bonnets for the bonnet contest which was judged by some of the family members.
